Chillin' In The Hot Tub
Pat drained the hot tub on Sunday, cleaned it, and filled it up with fresh water. While the water was warming up to the super steamy temperature we like it at the kids had their chance to splash around in it for a while.
Buddy looks just like his Daddy looks in the hot tub every night (minus the Coors Light in hand, of course)!

Pretty Bird
Finches have been hanging out in our birch tree and on the plants on our deck lately. It's bold yellow feathers made this one particularly pretty.

Orchid
We awoke this morning to find that one of the delicate flowers on the orchid plant bloomed overnight. Orchids are so unique and beautiful and I can hardly wait to see what it looks like when it's in full bloom.

Happy 13th Birthday Daniel!
As of today my Nephew is a teenager. Wow! I think he really likes the fleece blanket we had made for him using a photo of himself playing goalie. Happy Birthday Daniel!

You Can't Win Em' All
Careline and her teammates suffered their first loss of the regular season last night by the score of 5 to 2 to Woodbury. Up next...a tournament this weekend in Eau Claire. Should be a good time.

Proud New Owners Of A Library Card
Both Careline and Braden enjoy reading. They have been itching to have their very own library cards for quite some time now. Since school's out for Summer and we have a Nanny coming in to our home every day who will be taking them to the library on a regular basis I let them each get a card today.
Finally, A Nice Night For Baseball
At last, baseball fell on a night that wasn't cold or rainy or incredibly windy!
Buddy got stuck playing in the outfield last night. As you might well imagine, not a whole lot of 8 year olds hit the ball that far (Braden being the exception to the rule, of course) so he didn't see much action. He kept himself busy swatting mosquitoes and chit chatting with his Coach and each time he was up to bat gave the ball a good ride.

Soon We'll Have Tomatoes
This morning was the first time I've had to water my little garden since planting it way back on May 19th. That's just how rainy it's been around these parts for the past month. But things are looking up...we awoke this morning to sunshine (that's expected to stick around for at least the first half of today) and these flowers on the tomato plant mean that we'll be enjoying some juicy homegrown tomatoes before long.

Toddler Program Graduate
We are so very happy that we found Maple Tree Day School for Adeline this year. It's hard to believe but already today she graduated from the Toddler Program. She has learned many things under the loving care and direction of Miss Ree Ree and Miss Jackie. This girl knows her ABC's, every shape and color, can recite the Pledge of Allegiance on her own, and has created tons of beautiful pieces of artwork over the course of this school year.

Soccer Tournament
Careline and her Packers teammates participated in the Bloomington Mega Cup soccer tournament over the weekend. Although they only won the third game of the three they played, fun was had by all.
