Lucky McLaughlin Kids

We all know that Buddy is one lucky dude...but the girls don't do too bad for themselves either.  Careline started this week off well with a $104 pull tab win on Sunday night and check out the awesome bike that Adeline won for her big Sister last night at library Summer party.

 



And They're Off

Pat and the kids just took off headed to a State Park north of Forest Lake to camp for the night.  They plan to spend the day hiking, exploring, and geocaching.  The night will be spent hanging out around the campfire.  Mom stayed home to hold down the fort.  Truth be told, I didn't like the thought of having to walk to a shared restroom in the middle of the night.  I may have grown up in the county but I'm 100% city girl these days!

Here they are just before departure posing for their 1st group selfie.  It's the first of many I expect to receive throughout the next 24 hours.  Hope they have an awesome time.
  

Martin Zellar

 

Martin Zellar performed an outdoor concert last night in Rosemount as part of Leprechaun Days.  It was the perfect evening to be outside rocking out to hits like "Dream Vacation In The Dells", "I Want To Drive The Zambonie", and "Goodbye Marie" among others.

Wonderful Wednesday

I love Wednesday's.  It's my short day at work.  In the Winter, that means I have half of the day to myself (but I usually end up cleaning the house) and in the Summer, it means that the kids and I get to spend a fun afternoon together.  This afternoon's fun event was a trip to the mini golf course.  Don't tell Adeline...she missed out as she goes to Maple Tree every Wednesday to keep her in school mode.

 

 

 Their future is so bright...they have to wear shades.

Adeline didn't miss out on all of the fun.  Tonight, she and Buddy went to the pool for a bit.  Finally this Summer she is tall enough to stand all by herself in the shallow end.

It's hard to believe that Buddy is the same kid who just a couple years ago didn't ever want to get his hair wet....he now loves the water.

 

District Soccer Shoot-Out Champion

Adeline smoked the competition today taking 1st Place in the district soccer shoot-out and earned herself a ticket to the State Soccer Shoot-Out in Brainerd next month.  Can you believe it?  My baby is going to State!

Baseball Jamboree Runner-Up

Buddy played a whole lot of baseball this weekend.  He had 2 games on Friday night and 3 today.  Yes, 3 on this 90 degree day.  Wowsa!   The championship game was a tight contest but in the end the White Sox lost by 1 run.  Unlike his older Sister, Braden is able to accept losses with grace.  Here he is with his pal Matt from the championship A's team (both with smiles from ear to ear).

Congratulations are in order for Careline and her randomly chosen teammates.  They came out on top of the 5 teams playing tonight in the sweltering heat in this years 3 v 3 Soccer Jamboree tournament.

To be honest with you, I'm happy that it's raining outside this morning.  It makes going back to work after a gorgeous long weekend sooooo much easier!

For the second day in a row Careline is all decked out in red, white, and blue but today it is in support of the US Women's Soccer Team as they take on Japan for the World Cup.  Go USA!
