Soccer Tournament
Careline and her teammates played in soccer tournament in Prior Lake this weekend. The competition was tough, as the girls were playing against girls in a division higher than themselves, and they ended up with one tie and two losses for the tournament.
This morning, the girls on the opposing team chose Careline as the player of the game. There's no doubt that she pours her entire heart and soul in to every game.

Sleepyhead
As you might recall, Adeline is not the greatest sleeper. She has always been quite the little night owl. Thankfully since returning to school earlier this month she's been on a much better night routine and is usually sound asleep by 9 pm. I'll take 9 pm over 11 pm anytime!

Dallas
Pat and I returned today from a wonderful trip to Dallas. Do you recognize the house we are in front of? It's none other than the Southfork Ranch, home of the Ewing family from the Dallas television series.
I dipped my toes in the famous Ewing pool.
The day we were at Southfork, the Australian Today Show was filming live. Here, Pat was trying to photo bomb their live shot and make his Australian TV debut.
The long covered driveway leading to the Ewing ranch.
On Friday, we visited the JFK museum located at the site of the old book depository. It was a moving look at the day that JFK lost his life. There were so many powerful photos, audio accounts, and videos of that day in history. Even the place setting that was waiting for him at a luncheon he was to have attended after the parade was part of the tour. It was a strange feeling to be within feet of the very spot where Lee Harvey Oswald shot at the President.
This is a huge floor to ceiling piece of art of President Kennedy. The awesome thing about this is that it is made up of tons of tiny photos of Jackie (see the next picture). There is also a huge picture of Jackie made up of tiny photos of JFK.
The shots were fired from the far right window on the second floor from the top.
An X marks the spot on the road in the 2 locations where bullets hit the President.
In the middle of town there is a park filled with longhorn statues.
We took in a Texas Rangers baseball game.
On Saturday morning we headed over to the Fort Worth Historic Stockyards. There are some fun shops at the stockyards and it was cool to be in attendance as they marched the enormous longhorns down the street.
Our main purpose for going to Dallas was to watch our Gopher Football Team take on the TCU Horned Frogs. Here we are with the Horned Frog. It didn't turn out the way we had hoped, and the Gophers lost 30-7, but it was a nice day to watch football and the campus was beautiful.
As previously reported, we also went to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens yesterday but because this post is already incredibly long, I'll post those pictures later.

We're In Texas, Ya'll
Pat and I are nearing the end of a fabulous 5 day trip to Dallas. Our main purpose for coming to Dallas was to watch our Gopher football team take on Texas Christian University (TCU). If you too are a a Gopher fan, you already know that the Gophers didn't bring their A game yesterday and TCU kicked our butts 30-7. It was fun to be there anyway. TCU has an absolutely gorgeous well kept campus.
We've packed in a ton of fun in these past couple days. We visited SouthFork, the site of the filming of Dallas, we toured the JFK Museum (the old book depository where the fatal shots were fired), we visited the historic Ft. Worth Stockyards where we saw longhorns up close and personal, and we took in a Texas Rangers game.
Today, we are heading to a botanical garden in the morning and a sports bar at noon to watch the NFL games. Marriage is all about compromise, right?!
Check back late Monday or Tuesday for lots of pictures. Til then, later ya'll.

Fall Soccer
Careline and her Packer teammates got their short Fall season off to a fantastic start over the weekend by defeating a St. Paul team by the score of 9 to nothing. Careline scored 4 of the 9 goals. That stat is pretty impressive, but even more impressive is watching her leadership skills shine on the field.
After the game, the girls happily helped their Coach complete the Ice Water Challenge.
