Gophers vs UNLV

Our main reason for coming to Vegas was to follow our beloved Gophers. The taxi ride to/from the game cost us $100...but the Gophers rewarded us with a triple overtime victory over the UNLV Rebels.

The Criss Angel magic show last night was fabulous. He started the show by descending to the stage from mid-air. He continued to wow the audience for the next hour and a half making things disappear, appear, cutting his gorgeous assistant in half,... He definitely kept a captivated audience the entire show.

I've got more photos to share from our journeys yesterday. I don't feel bad about missing my workouts this week...Pat and I walk countless miles each day and climb more staircases than I really care to...but it's been a good workout in itself.

Tonight is the Gophers vs UNLV football game...our main reason for being here. Until then, we'll spend the day touring the town and hitting it big (today is the day, right?!)

What Happens In Vegas (will be blogged)

Pat and I are having a good time here in Las Vegas. Last night and today we walked the strip...trying our luck at several different casinos. We've been successful at some...not so much at others. We haven't needed to ask any of you to wire us money though...so that's good.

Tonight we will be going to a Criss Angel magic show... Should be cool.

The girls each created a nice new piece of art the other night.  I love Careline's clever use of her arm and hand as the trunk and limb of the tree.  It takes a little more imagination to determine what Adeline was trying to make.

Today we celebrated our friend Kaiden's 5th birthday at his super fun superhero party. Careline and Buddy look forward to Kaiden's party every year as it's their once a year chance to play with JJ...who basically is just a kid himself trapped inside an adult body.

A Very Special Cookbook

Just this week a new cookbook went on sale exclusively at Kowalski Market's.  The book features the stories of several children from Minnesota who are fighting (and beating) childhood leukemia.  Each child also provided a recipe for the cookbook.  Ashley Boesel, the daughter of my dear friend Kris from work, is one of the youngsters featured.
