Our Morning Adventure

We took a family trip to the St. Paul Farmer's Market this morning.  The St. Paul Market has a huge variety of fruit, vegetables, flowers, honey,... you name it, they have it!  Here's Pat and the big kids walking away with our goodies.

After we were done shopping at the Market, we hopped on the new Green Line for a ride down University from St. Paul to Minneapolis.

We got off the train at the University of Minnesota and walked around for a little bit.  Here are the kids standing in front of Mariucci Ice Arena.

Go GOPHERS

Good Luck to our Golden Gopher Football Team as they play their first game of the season tonight.  Pat and I are excited to head off to Texas in 2 weeks to be in attendance as they take on TCU.  Here's to a great season of football!

The First Day Of School

I don't know where the Summer went...but it's back to school for the kids today.  Hard to believe, but this will be Careline's last year in Elementary School.  Even harder to believe, it's my baby's last year in Day School.  Next year at this time she will be heading off to Kindergarten.

Careline - 5th Grade

Braden - 4th Grade

Adeline - Pre Kindergarten

At the bus stop with Inga.

And off they go!

Open House

The kids went to school today to meet their Teacher, check out the classroom, and drop off their supplies.  I am so not ready for Summer to be over...but ready or not, the bus will be here Monday morning.

Pretty Toes

Grandma Ellen treated Careline to a pedicure this afternoon.  A girl's got to look good for the first day of 5th grade, you know!

Science Museum

The kids and I took a quick trip to the Science Museum this afternoon. Why quick, you ask.  Well...because every YMCA and Daycare Center in the Twin Cities had the exact same idea.  Even the kids were annoyed with how many OTHER kids were there today.  It's always fun though, and since we are members and it's just a short 15 minute drive from home we'll go back soon.

Careline really likes the trading post station.  Members are encouraged to bring in unique pieces and trade them for another.  Today she brought in a rock and traded it for this pretty agate.

They have the most gorgeous flower bed out front of the Museum.  I could spend hours wandering around it taking pictures...but that would never fly with the kids...so this is the only one I got.

A Visit To The Library

Tonight we paid a visit to the newly remodeled Inver Glen Library.  Trips to the library have always been a hit with the kids and now with all the new fun areas to explore (as well as the awesome selection of books, magazines, games, and movies) we will surely be back again soon.

Our Vacation To Three Bears Lodge

We just got home today from a 4 day 3 night trip with the Kay family to the Three Bears Lodge in Wisconsin.  We spent our days enjoying the waterparks and our evenings in front of the campfire.  It was relaxing and fun and I can hardly wait to do it again sometime.

Personalized Notebooks

These 3 are sure to be the envy of their classmates on the first day of school when they break out the personalized notebooks I made for them with the help of Shutterfly.

Pat and the big kids spent a fun day going on rides at Valleyfair.  We have to squeeze a lot of fun in to the upcoming days as school starts up again just  3 short weeks from today.

Fresh From The Farmers Market

The kids and I are totally digging the fact that it's the time of year when the Farmer's Markets are popping up here there and everywhere.  I say the kids and I because Pat would never dream of eating anything green!  We usually try to hit the one in Inver Grove Heights on Sunday morning and the one in South St Paul on Wednesday afternoon.  How delicious did my lunch of freshly chopped cucumbers, steamed beans, and fresh tomatoes mixed with mozzarella and seasoned salt look?  Let me tell you, it was delightful!

And how about the gorgeous bouquet of flowers Buddy picked out for me for a mere $6.  They are half the size of him!
